Motherhood

Motherhood has been one of the most amazing journeys of my life.  We think we as parents that we are the ones teaching our children, but really, they are the ones teaching us. In her short sixteen months on this earth, my daughter has taught me so many life lessons that have failed to sink in before.

She has taught me to simply slow down and enjoy the day to day moments, which if you really know me, is something I have struggled with my entire life. I've learned to have patience above and beyond what I thought I was capable of, especially for three in the morning. Before having a baby, I thought I understood what it meant to put others before yourself. To be honest, I hadn't the slightest idea. Babies don’t give you the option of putting yourself first. She has shown me that having a perfectly clean house is overrated, and that making a mess can provide loads of fun and entertainment.  She has taught me the true meaning of unconditional love.

I may have rushed into motherhood at a young age (like everything else I do did), but I have learned through my daughter that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

SO WHAT Wednesday

Linking up with Shannon @ Life  After I "Dew" for SO WHAT Wednesday.

This week, I'm saying SO WHAT if...

my husband and I bicker on a weekly basis about the condition of my socks. They may be worn out, but I’d much rather spend the money on something other than socks.

I let my daughter unroll “her” toilet paper roll. every. single.  day.  It used to drive me insane until I discovered that it allows me to take a shower in peace.

I now work out in my underwear and a sports bra. It’s way more of a motivation to keep working out. Trust me.

I’m already sick of winter, even though it has been pretty mild so far. The “heat” wave we got here last week was amazing, but my daughter now asks every five seconds to go (out) “side” and play.

my daughter is obsessed with her dog. She walks around the house calling out for her “dog-dog” all day long. It’s pretty cute and somewhat comical considering we don’t even have a dog.

Free Pizza

If you stick around here long enough, you’ll quickly realize my obsession interest in free stuff. I’m not an extreme couponer by any means.  I don’t have enough time to dedicate to that. And honestly….I’d feel crazy checking out at the grocery store with 500 coupons.

I do love a great deal though, and I recently saw this deal for a FREE large Papa John’s pizza. Who doesn’t love a free pizza? They are running a contest right now where you can choose whether the coin toss in the Super Bowl will be heads or tails. On Super Bowl Sunday, if your guess is correct, they will email you a promo code for a free pizza. The best part is that they allow up to four entries per household! So as long as you go on and pick heads, and fill it out again (selecting tails this time, obviously) for another member of your family you are guaranteed a free pizza! You’re welcome.

Coming Out of the Blog Creeper Closet: Attempt Numero Dos

After reading this post by the lovely AP, I felt the drive again to give this blogging thing a try. Therefore, Operation: Coming Out of the Blog Creeper Closet (attempt numero dos) is now in full effect.

I have no idea where I want this blog to go (hence the lack of title), but hopefully over the course of time I can figure it out. Since I have no idea where to start, I thought it might be fun to do a little Q & A so you can get to know me. So please feel free to ask as many or as little questions as you would like. If you can’t think of any questions or would rather not ask, please leave a comment and let me know you dropped by! Hopefully over the next month or so I will have enough questions to make a proper post.

For those of you who don’t “know” me, I’ll give you a bit of my background so you have a little something to go off of when thinking about your questions.  First off, hi! I’m Rachel. Wife to Glen. Mother to one spunky, red headed, sweet, funny, adorable one year old named Adelle. We recently moved to a new city for my husband’s job. I absolutely love where we live, but I know no one. I’m a SAHM, and plan to keep it that way for a while.
